Grew up on a farm so loved this book. Such cute rhymes. The illustrations were great. Will be no processing this for my nieces and nephew. Thank you for the ARC. - Amethyst Maxey
The tractor squad has a lot to do around the farm. Summer brings melon harvests and honey, and autumn requires work to prepare the farm for winter. While mistakes are inherent to learning, the tractor team has the tenacity required to keep trying again. Luckily, the tractor team is good at completing their assigned tasks, especially when they work together. This fun picture book includes two entertaining stories that are well suited to young children and builds upon the initial book in the series. Readers need not have read the first book for this one to make sense, however. Both tales in this collection feature rhyming couplets throughout, which give the narrative a singsong rhythm that is particularly pleasing to the ear when read aloud. While the meter does not remain consistent from one rhyme to the next, the book is nonetheless fun to read. Strong moral lessons of teamwork, tenacity, and helpfulness fill both stories, and the fact that the tractors and animals are all anthropomorphic in nature adds to the whimsy of the storytelling. Fans of the Little Blue Truck series will find similarities in these stories, and children will appreciate the comic antics depicted on each page. At the end of the book, a recipe for the smoothie featured in the first story is included, inviting further discovery once the book concludes. Charming and accessible, this pair of stories will appeal to young children who appreciate farm machinery and rhyming narratives. - Mary
